Synopsis

What’s your biggest challenge on your construction projects?  Architects seem to face the same problems on project after project.  Among all, waterproofing system bounds to be the most difficult trade to suit the speed, the sophisticated designs and the sustainability requirement in today’s construction technology.

This webinar is aimed to point out some typical site constraints in sub- and super-structures for Architects to appreciate how important to choose an effective waterproofing system to overcome them.

Mr Gabriel Leung
Senior Manager of Cementaid Group

Mr. Gabriel Leung, a Singaporean and originally from Hong Kong who came to Singapore in early 90s.  When he was in Hong Kong, he worked in Hong Kong Housing Department and served several housing estate with big population.  It was actually at that time, Mr. Leung was exposed to vast building maintenance problem; concrete spalling, external wall and roof leakage, part of building under differentiate settlement etc are some typical problems in this area.  All these taught and shaped Mr. Leung to have strong determination to do something good to raise the standard of the construction industry, even though it could be just a small portion.

As Senior Manager of Cementaid Group, Mr. Gabriel Leung is now responsible for the Singapore, Malaysia as well as Brunei Markets.  His main role is to handle collective financial and risk management strategies of Cementaid Group to ensure the Cementaid waterproofing admixtures and surface treatment products are meeting the market expectations and needs.  

Mr. Gabriel Leung has been working in Cementaid for more than 20 years, his vast technical knowledge in concrete waterproofing and durability enables him to win over a strong trust from various Consultancies, Developers, Concrete Suppliers as well as various Government Authorities in many countries.  His completed waterproofing projects include more than 35 MRT stations in Singapore, the KPE tunnel, the Suntec City as well as many prestige projects like Resort World Sentosa, Our Tampines Hub and many more residential, commercial and infra-structural works in the Region.  Mr. Leung’s innovative ideas always welcomed by Contractors as well as Developers for higher effectiveness, value engineering and time saving. 

Mr. Gabriel Leung studied Civil and Structural Engineering in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also studied Marketing and graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.
